SimTouch™ keypads have been designed to be a lower cost alternative to capacitive touch switches. SimTouch technology requires a flexible overlay, but the lowered construction thickness greatly reduces the travel distance to the membrane keypad circuitry and the force required to close the switch, thus simulating a touch switch. SimTouch construction also permits the use of thicker overlay materials which will provide a smoother, glassy appearance to the product. The overlays can also be metallized to give a stainless steel look.
