Reflective Polarization (RP)
LCDs linearly polarize light using front and rear polarizers. Light from the backlit LCD system that is in the same orientation as the rear polarizer is transmitted completely out of the display. Light that is not in line with the rear polarizer is absorbed by the rear polarizer. On average, about 50% of a display's backlight output is absorbed.
Our optical engineers add reflective polarization (RP) to reorient the existing light until it is in line with the existing polarizers. Our innovative RP system increases the display's brightness by 45% without increasing power consumption and heat output, or reducing the display’s viewing angle.
