White Electronic Designs formed a Task Team to address Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 (RoHS), regarding the elimination and/or control of specified hazardous materials in electronics. The Task Team consists of Engineering and Quality Assurance representatives from each of our five facilities and is chaired by the Corporate Director of Quality Assurance. The purpose of the Team is to evaluate the requirements of the Directive, design and document a program to comply with the requirements, and implement the program in all of our facilities. Understanding that our customers require product to be available before the RoHS Directive deadline of July 1, 2006, WEDC has set an aggressive schedule to have the majority of our product available as lead-free by January 2006.
Understanding that our customers require product to be available before the RoHS Directive deadline of July 1, 2006, we set an aggressive schedule to have the majority of our product available as lead-free and RoHS compliant before January 2006. We shipped our first RoHS compliant modules and PCMCIA cards in April 2005 with qualification data reports. Any product in our hi-performance memory module or PCMCIA portfolio can be converted to RoHS when requested.
