WEDC Receives Supplier Excellence Award
PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 20, 2010) White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ:WEDC) was recently recognized for its quality and performance by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. WEDC received a Supplier Excellence Award at a ceremony held on March 2, 2010.
Raytheon recognizes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality, and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement. WEDC was one of only three companies in 2009 to be presented with the coveted 5-star award, the highest honor that can be achieved by a Raytheon IDS supplier.
“Our microelectronic products provide an unprecedented level of technological capability for Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems programs, such as the combat-proven Patriot Missile Defense System,” said WEDC Executive Vice President Dan Tarantine. “Ultimately, this technology will help protect the brave men and women of the United States Military. WEDC components are critical elements in the performance and reliability requirements for these mission critical systems. They help provide precision guidance and improve war-fighter safety, which is important in today’s battle theater.”
WEDC’s role in the program began more than twenty years ago. As a trusted Department of Defense integrated circuit supplier, WEDC provides secure on-shore manufacturing and anti-tamper technology to protect critical data and communications in many vital defense programs. The products are used in key electronic systems, including integrated core processor systems, navigation and guidance, electronic warfare and counter measures, as well as classified programs.
WEDC is dedicated to its support of the defense industry with microelectronics that pass the rigorous requirements of temperature, shock, vibration, gun hardening and other environmental conditions dictated by mission assurance requirements. For more than three decades, the Company has supported the defense industry with its leading edge products and technologies. The company employs more than 200 workers at its facility in Phoenix, Arizona.
