WEDC Introduces 1GB DDR2 SDRAM VLP Mini-DIMM FBGA for High Performance Memory Applications
Phoenix, AZ—June 19, 2006—White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ:WEDC) today announces the availability of its 1GB DDR2 SDRAM Registered, w/PLL, very low profile dual in-line memory module (VLP Mini-DIMM). The device is a 2x64Mx72 Double Data Rate (DDR2) SDRAM high density module. The 1GB module consists of eighteen 64Mx8 bit with 4 banks DDR2 Synchronous DRAMs in Fine Ball Grid Array (FBGA) packages, mounted on a 244-pin DIMM FR4 substrate (JEDEC Standard).
The high performance module was specifically designed for a variety of high bandwidth, high performance memory system applications. It utilizes synchronous design which allows precise cycle control with the use of system clock. It offers gold edge contacts, is dual rank and includes multiple internal device banks for concurrent operation.
WEDC’s new 1GB SDRAM (W3HG264M72EER-AD7) features fast data transfer rates: PC2-6400, PC2-5300, PC2-4200 and PC2-3200 (consult factory for PC2-6400 and PC2-5300 availability), On-Die Termination (ODT) and Phase-Lock Loop (PLL). The device provides programmable CAS# latency and posted CAS# additive latency (AL), serial presence detect with EEPROM and differential data strobe for transmitting and receiving data.
Pricing and Availability
Defined as part number W3HG264M72EER-AD7, the 1GB DDR2 SDRAM is priced at $145.00 (US) each in volumes of 1,000 pieces with a lead-time of 6-8 weeks. All DDR2 modules are available as RoHS (Restrictions on Hazardous Substances).
