Tactile Membrane Keypads • Commercial Scale

There are many variations possible when manufacturing membrane keypad. Since the graphic layer is screen-printed, the selection of colors and layout design of the keypad is virtually limitless. Changes to membrane keyboards can be easily made to accommodate new or customized models, with features added as the design demands. Keys on custom membrane keypads may be flat or embossed, with or without tactile feedback. The commercial scale keypad employs plastic domes, made with our proprietary dome-forming process, which will meet temperature requirements of up to 105º C. This compares to a current industry standard of 55º C for polyester domes. Until now, only metal domes, which are significantly more expensive, could meet those high temperature ratings.

We utilize proprietary processes for attaching LEDs to membrane keypads like those found on home appliances. Our process is the most cost-effective and reliable available today, and works for all sizes of LEDs. In addition, these membrane keyboards comply with UL requirements, as do all of our appliance keypad constructions. Our exclusive and advanced SMT placement process on polyester film allows us to include a wide variety of surface mount components with your custom membrane keypad. This provides additional cost and space savings for your applications.
