A. Yes, Microsemi Power and Microelectronics Group (MPMG) products are under PCN (Product Change Notice) control, which includes customer notification on standard products and customer approval on custom products.
Q. How does a customer sign up to receive PCNs from MPMG?
A. On MPMG’s website under “Product Information” in the Knowledge Base section of the website, you can
sign up for MPMG’s PCN notification. Or a customer may contact MPMG directly to request addition to the PCN notification list.
Q. How much advanced notice is given of changes to MPMG’s products?
A. MPMG endeavors to give our customers 6 months notice thru our PCN system of any change to the BoM or major process change of any product.
Q. Do you offer the opportunity to execute a lifetime buy of the existing revision?
A. Yes, based on availability of materials, MPMG will offer lifetime buys to customers.
Q. Can MPMG perform root cause analysis and corrective action on failed product?
A. Yes, MPMG can perform root cause analysis and corrective action on failed product through our RMA (Return Material Authorization) process which can be initiated by contacting MPMG’s Customer Service Team.

A. MPMG’s headquarters and microelectronics manufacturing facility is located at 3601 E. University Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85034.
Q. Does MPMG perform electrical testing of 100% of all devices or lot-based screening?
A. MPMG performs electrical testing of 100% of all devices shipped from MPMG unless otherwise agreed to by a specific customer.
Q. Does MPMG perform Burn-in testing to reduce infant mortality failures?
A. MPMG performs Burn-in testing on 100% of all devices unless otherwise agreed to by a specific customer.
Q. What type of qualification testing does MPMG perform?
A. MPMG performs different levels of qualification based upon product type; for example, our BGA products are qualified by Preconditioning, Life Test, Temperature Cycle and 85/85 Temperature / Humidity testing. QML devices are qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 and 38535.
Q. Does MPMG perform simulation during design of standard or custom multi-chip packaged parts?
A. MPMG performs high-speed signal integrity and thermal simulation to all standard and custom multi-chip packaged products as part of the standard design process.
