Standard factory LCD displays are typically not enhanced for end-user applications that require a brighter, less reflective or rugged display. While most LCD display manufacturers use a very bright backlight, by the time the backlight passes through all of the layers of the LCD display, the display can lose up to 90% of its original light.
We have developed display enhancement processes and materials that result in optically enhanced LCDs that can output as much as 1500 nits. These enhnaced LCD displays are substantially more rugged than factory-supplied commodity displays. We segment our display enhancement processes into the following components: Index Matching; Passive Display Enhancements, such as reflective polarizeration; Active Display Enhancements, such as backlighting systems and enhanced light guides; and Optical Bonding, such as Max-Vu and SBLR.
