We produce two complex build to print assemblies for Virginia Class submarines; the Control and Indicator Unit and the Cable Data Box. These devices provide the operator with the controls and indicators required to operate and monitor the submarines’ sonar towed array handling system.
We successfully integrate numerous capabilities in these rugged shipboard units; including machining of metal chassis components, backplane wiring, cable assembly, circuit card assembly, gear train production, wire harness assembly, sub-assembly of electronic components (potentiometers, LED displays, power supplies), and finishing (paint, conformal coat).
Final assembly and test includes calibration of LED meters, setting the alignment values and sequencing variable potentiometers, and full functional testing utilizing WEDC designed and produced test equipment.
